A communication method is provided. The method includes a first network node sends data to a terminal device. The first network node sends first indication information and second indication information to a second network node. The first indication information indicated information about a highest sequence number (SN) successfully delivered in sequence in the data. The second indication information indicates information about an SN that is delivered after the highest SN.
