The operations may include transmitting a first electromagnetic wave, where the first electromagnetic wave is guided by and propagates along a first transmission medium without requiring an electrical return path, and transmitting a second electromagnetic wave, where the second electromagnetic wave is guided by and propagates along a second transmission medium without requiring the electrical return path, the second transmission medium being different from the first transmission medium.
