A first user equipment (UE) determines system parameter information to initiate a sidelink communication. The first UE transmits, in one or more first subbands of a plurality of subbands within a shared radio frequency during a first time period, the system parameter information. The first UE communicates, with a second UE in a second subband of the plurality of subbands during a second time period different from the first time period, sidelink data based on the system parameter information.
