METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR THERMAL SPRAYING BRAZE ALLOY MATERIALS ONTO A NICKEL-BASED COMPONENT TO FACILITATE HIGH DENSITY BRAZED JOINT WITH LOW DISCONTINUITIES
Abstract:
A method and system for thermal spraying braze alloy materials onto a nickel-based component to facilitate a high density brazed joint with low discontinuities is disclosed. The method and system utilize a high melt braze alloy material and a low melt braze alloy material. A thermal spraying application sprays the high melt braze alloy material and the low melt braze alloy onto a surface of a nickel-based component containing a damaged portion. The sprayed high melt braze alloy material and the low melt braze alloy form a solidified deposit within the damaged portion of the nickel-based component. The solidified deposit is a homogeneous braze coating containing the high melt braze alloy and the low melt braze alloy. The homogeneous braze coating facilitates a high density brazed joint with low discontinuities in the damaged portion of the nickel-based component.
