One apparatus includes a transceiver that receives a first indication to operate in a full duplex aware mode and receives slot format information of a slot. The apparatus includes a processor that controls the transceiver to perform at least one action selected from: uplink transmission in a first set of symbols of the slot and downlink reception in a second set of symbols of the slot, where at least one symbol of the first set of symbols of the slot is a downlink symbol according to the slot format information, and where at least one symbol of the second set of symbols of the slot is an uplink symbol according to the slot format information.
