The purpose is to provide porous carbon suitable for a positive electrode additive that can improve the input/output characteristics of a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery at room temperature and ensure the peel strength of an electrode. The present invention relates to porous carbon having a pore volume of pores with 2 nm or more and 200 nm or less of 0.8 cm3/g or more as measured by the BJH method, a bulk density of 0.10 g/cm3 or less, a mode pore diameter of 150 nm or less as measured by the BJH method, and an average primary particle diameter of 1 μm or more and 100 μm or less.
