A video management system (VMS) including a recording server configured for receiving and storing a plurality of data streams and respective metadata streams, each data stream being supplied by, or associated with, respective ones of a plurality of streaming devices;



a processing unit configured to receive data via a data communication interface, and further configured to:
responsive to a trigger event, select a streaming device of the plurality of streaming devices, where the selected streaming device is associated with the trigger event,
obtain position data associated with the selected streaming device, and
determine a textual position description based on the position data of the selected streaming device at a time associated with the trigger event, wherein the textual position description describing a geographical position in a natural human language form with a common language syntax,
wherein the VMS is configured to provide the textual position description.
