A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system includes identifying, while the UE is in an evolved packet system (EPS), a network slice based on a UE route selection policy (URSP) rule, moving from the EPS to a 5th generation system (5GS), and transmitting, to a base station, information on the network slice.
