The image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a display; a content receiving device configured to receive real-time content or non-real-time content from an external server or a content provider; and a signal processing device configured to generate a program guide by combining the real-time content and the non-real-time content which are received by the content receiving device, and to display the generated program guide on the display or display the content based on the generated program guide. Accordingly, a custom program guide including the real-time content and the non-real-time content may be provided.
