The present disclosure relates to an actuating assembly for a vehicle, configured to control the movement of a cover assembly that selectively covers a compartment, such as a charging, fueling, or service compartment. The actuating assembly includes a drive assembly, a drive train, and a locking mechanism to secure the cover assembly in a closed position. In the event of an obstruction, such as ice accumulation, the mechanism features a manual override system comprising a handle and cable that allows the user to disengage the locking mechanism and manually open the cover.
