Abstract:
Cement-forming raw materials are introduced into a swirling stream of hot gas in a cylindrical reaction zone where the raw materials react to form clinkers and where the gas stream holds the clinker particles in suspension until the particles grow heavy enough to drop to the lower portion of the reaction zone. Apparatus suitable for carrying out the process is also described.
