摘要：
A method is provided for preventing shrinkage cavities and voids in steel ingots by the steps of forming a body of degassed molten steel in an ingot mold and continuously supplying molten steel by remelting an electrode into the body of molten steel at a controlled rate substantially equal to the volume loss by shrinkage on cooling until the body of steel is solidified.
