The present invention relates to new thymol derivatives with strong sympatholytic effect and low toxicity and to a process for their preparation.These novel thymol derivatives have the following general formula: ##SPC1##Wherein R is an alkyl group of 4 to 11 carbon atoms or an alkoxy group R'--O-- wherein R' is an alkyl group of 3 to 10 carbon atoms, and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts.
