A method and apparatus for coating a glass container witb a layer of plastic whereby the container rotates about a horizontal axis and moves past a coating station. A plurality of liquid applicator nozzle means, positioned above the coating station, supply uncured plastic liquid to associated areas on the container. Means are provided for supplying predetermined quantities of uncured plastic liquid to respective ones of the nozzle means such that each nozzle means provides a coating of desired thickness and composition on its associated bottle area. The container is also rotated during the subsequent curing of the plastic.
