A novel hydroxamic acid compound represented by the general formula:R.sub.1 --CONHCH.sub.2 CONHOHwherein R.sub.1 is an alkyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkyl alkyl group having from 4 to 11 carbon atoms, and pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof, and a method for the preparation of the above-mentioned compound and salt, and a novel medicament for the treatment of urolithiasis and pyelonephritis, containing the above-mentioned compound or salt as an active ingredient.
