A method of removing snow from ground surfaces, comprising discharging into a layer of snow lying on the ground in front of a travelling vehicle, high velocity water from a plurality of nozzles mounted on the front portion of the vehicle extending horizontally across the width of the vehicle, in a forward and downward direction at a pressure of not less than 40 kg./cm.sup.2 and at a rate of at least 30 liters/min.
