N,N-dimethyl O-(1-carbamoyl-pyrazol-5-yl) carbamates of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3, independently of one another, represent a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl group, andR.sup.4 represents an alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulphinyl or alkylsulphonyl group,are new and are obtained when a 5-hydroxy-pyrazole of the general formula ##STR2## or an alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt thereof, is reacted with an N,N-dimethyl-carbamic acid-halide of the general formula ##STR3## in which Hal represents a chlorine or bromine atom. The compounds of formula (I) can be used as pest-combating agents, especially in combating insects or acarids.
