An adhesive binding tape consisting of a backing portion with temperature activated adhesive on one side, the exterior of the backing having alternating thick and thin sections extending along an axis substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tape and forming alternating rows of peaks and valleys of generally rectangular cross section.In a second embodiment, the peaks and valleys have a generally triangular cross section.
