Abstract:
This arrangement for interpolating images by motion estimation and compensation includes a member for estimating motion in blocks (10) to form motion vectors assigned to picture element blocks and an interpolating member (120) for forming an image as a function of the motion vectors. The arrangement furthermore includes an assigning member (50) for assigning a vector from the candidate motion vectors (D.sub.1, D.sub.2, . . . D.sub.L) processed by the estimation member to each picture element.
