A scroll machine has a sealed housing divided into a high-pressure side and a low-pressure side by a discharge cover, a stationary scroll and a swivel scroll housing within the low-pressure side of the sealed housing, a frame with legs fixed within the sealed housing, a support spring through which the stationary scroll is attached to the top ends of the legs of the frame, and an intermediate pressure chamber formed by sealingly engaged parts of the rear portion of the stationary scroll and an inner surface of the discharge cover so that the stationary scroll will be pressed against the swivel scroll by hydraulic pressure introduced into the intermediate pressure chamber. The frame is plug-welded to the sealed housing at a plurality of points lying along the outer circumferences of the legs of the frame, the top ends of the legs of the frame are connected to each other with a reinforcing plate or the legs are fitted to the inner surface of the housing, so as to prevent lateral displacement of the stationary scroll and the breakage of sealing members at the parts defining the intermediate pressure chamber.
