The carrying device is arranged to be free contact with the medium after the medium has been carried onto the carriage. The carrying device is a semicircular rubber roller, and a surface of a flat part of the rubber roller is placed in a state opposed to a surface of the medium after the medium has been carried onto the carriage, whereby the rubber roller is freed from contact with the medium.
