The game round is fully played out, and then the relative rankings of the frontline players are determined, identifying a highest ranked frontline player or players and a second highest ranked frontline player or players. The relative rankings of the backline players are then determined by reference to the rankings of the frontline players they selected, identifying a highest ranked backline player or players and a second-highest ranked backline player or players. The frontline players' pot is then apportioned between the highest-ranked and second-highest ranked frontline players according to a predetermined formula, and the backline players' pot is apportioned between the highest-ranked and second-highest ranked backline players according to a predetermined formula.
