摘要：
A liquid-absorbing resin is obtained by polymerizing a monomer component containing a cyclic N-vinyllactam. The liquid-absorbing resin possesses superb liquid absorbency for organic solvents, especially organic solvents containing an electrolyte, and can be suitably used as a high polymer solid electrolyte in an electric cell by retaining therein an organic solvent containing an electrolyte. Used as the organic solvent is, specifically, a water-compatible organic solvent of a solubility parameter of not less than 9 (cal/cm.sup.3).sup.1/2.
