A Transfer apparatus pushes back a disc located in a playing portion up to a position, at which the center hole of the disc at least partly projects from a disc insertion slot. An elastic holding mechanism elastically holds a portion of the disc, having been pushed back, on the outer side of a recording area from the opposite sides of the disc, thus preventing the falling-out of the disc.
