The arrangement further comprises at least one digital transmitter that is connected to the data processors via a program bus and sends program code over the program bus, only parts thereof being stored in a respective data processor. The arrangement is particularly suited for transcoder units in mobile radiotelephone systems wherein a number of encoding methods are utilized or a switching in the sense of an adaptive multi-rate encoder ensues.
