The bell is surrounded on the outside by an excitation coil to which medium- or high-frequency energy can be applied. The device includes a medium- or high-frequency generator for the excitation coil and with a cylindrical tubular susceptor arranged inside the bell for receiving at least one preassembled vacuum interrupter.
