A plurality of ink droplets are discharged from the same nozzle during one printing cycle so as to perform multiple gray level printing. A group of driving pulses including an initial pulse P1, a first subsequent pulse P2 and a second subsequent pulse P3 in one printing cycle is supplied to an actuator.
