In the second display mode, the arithmetic control/signal processing means 11 controls the video signal processing means 18 to display operation-indicating items for the operation relating to ultrasonic diagnosis on the CRT device 30, and controls the video signal processing means 17 to display an ultrasonic diagnostic image based on ultrasonic reflection signals stored in the image memory 16 on the LCD device 40, and conducts processing in response to a position detection signal detected by the position detecting means in the touch panel 42, for example, conducts zoom processing.
