The penetrator housing consists of a composite of a steel outer housing and a heavy-metal inner component, whereby the heavy-metal inner component, at predetermined external dimensions of the penetrator, is provided for the reduction of the mass of the steel outer housing and thus leads to an increase in the volume of the explosive charge and correspondingly to an increase in the mass of the explosive charge.
