The container is configured to contain a product, and the retaining member defines a dosing cavity for containing an amount of product capable of being dispensed when the device is in an upright orientation. The retaining member comprises a peripheral sidewall. A portion of the device comprises an edge defining an orifice in flow communication with the container and the dosing cavity. At least part of the edge extends inside the peripheral sidewall and/or an extension of the peripheral sidewall at a non-zero distance therefrom. The orifice is positioned to define a maximum filling level of the dosing cavity.
