The housing is configured to reduce interference in the transmission caused by the metal surface of the housing. The housing is made of or plated with an electromagnetically transparent decorative metal (ETDM). The housing has metal islands, which are separated from each other by gaps. These gaps in the ETDM surface allow the radio frequency (RF) energy of signals transmitted by the antenna to pass through.
