The reduction in luminance difference is achieved by at least one of changing distances between corresponding scan electrodes or corresponding sustain electrodes of corresponding scan/sustain electrode pairs in different areas of the panel or varying a gap between the scan and sustain electrodes of the scan/sustain electrode pair.
