The device includes a user interface unit for generating a user input instruction to record the moving picture, and a user input instruction to take the still picture while recording the moving picture; a moving picture recorder for compressing the still pictures into the moving picture, and recording the compressed picture; a camera picture capturing unit for, when there is the user input instruction to take the still picture while recording the moving picture, capturing the still picture; a camera controller for controlling an operation of a camera, and an operation of the camera picture capturing unit; a take-while-record setting unit for storing information on picture-taking; and a controller for generating a signal for controlling to detect the user input instruction to take the still picture while recording the moving picture, and take the still picture while recording the moving picture.
