The broadcasting receiving apparatus extracts a sequence header from a video stream of the received broadcasting signal if a broadcasting signal of each channel is received. Henceforth, the broadcasting receiving apparatus extracts a sequence header corresponding to a changed channel from a relevant region of a channel information table in a memory to establish an initial value of a decoder, so that an image can be displayed with any time delay even if the sequence header is not received at the start of channel change.
