A vertical alignment type liquid crystal display has a display screen including a plurality of pixels. Each pixel includes a display control region in which the liquid crystal molecules are controlled in alignment such that the liquid crystal molecules are inclined in the incline direction, and a viewing angle control region in which the liquid crystal molecules are controlled in alignment such that the liquid crystal molecules are inclined in the vertical direction or in the horizontal direction, and control voltage is applied through a common line common to the display control region.
