A housing 1 is configured to have a dimension A of a first face narrower than an effective doorway dimension a of an elevator cage 20, and a dimension B of a second face wider than an effective depth b of the elevator cage 20, and corner portions are chamfered in an up and down direction, and the chamfered dimension X is set to a value obtained by subtracting the effective depth b of the elevator cage 20 from the dimension B of the second face. Further, the corner portions may be chamfered in a same shape. In addition, each of the corner portions is chamfered to have an angle of approximately 45 degrees in relation to an adjoining surface.
