To achieve this object, an image sensing apparatus includes an image sensing element which photoelectrically converts an object image, a first image generation unit which generates a first image obtained from the image sensing element, a second image generation unit which generates a second image of a predetermined region from the image obtained by the image sensing element, and an exposure control unit which controls exposure so as to set the second image to appropriate brightness.
