This invention provides a compact imaging lens assembly comprising, in order from an object side to an image side: a first lens element with negative refractive power having a convex object-side surface and a concave image-side surface; a second lens element with positive refractive power, at least one of the object-side and image-side surfaces thereof being aspheric; and an aperture stop disposed between the second lens element and an image plane; wherein there are two lens elements with refractive power in the compact imaging lens assembly; and wherein the compact imaging lens assembly satisfies the relations: 0.40 1.5. Such an arrangement of optical elements can effectively improve the image quality of the system, reduce the total track length of the lens assembly while maintaining a sufficient back focal length, and achieve a wide field of view.
