The LCD includes an insulating substrate a gate line disposed on the insulating substrate, a data line insulated from the gate line and crossing the gate line, a thin film transistor connected to the gate line and the data line, a passivation layer disposed on the thin film transistor, a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor and partitioned into a plurality of domains by a plurality of first slits, a control electrode disposed on the passivation layer and at least partially overlapping each first slit, and a plurality of domain forming members arranged parallel to the first slits in an alternating fashion and partitioning the pixel electrode into a plurality of domains.
