The panel materials (2) to be printed are disposed immediately one after the other in rows (36-38) in the transport direction (4) at least in an inlet region (32) to the printing station (3) and are fed jointly through the printing station (3) during the printing operation, and the printed image is applied by means of an inkjet printing device (13).
