The backlight assembly includes a mold frame having a tetragonal frame shape and including four side parts and a bottom part extending from bottoms of the side parts, a printed circuit board disposed on the bottom part of the mold frame, at least one light source disposed on the printed circuit board, and a light guide sheet disposed at a side of the light source and accommodated in the mold frame.
