In an embodiment of the invention, a method for weather adaptation of an environmentally hardened computing appliance includes determining a location of an environmentally hardened computing appliance. Thereafter, a weather forecast including a temperature forecast can be retrieved for a block of time at the location. As a result, a cache policy for a cache of the environmentally hardened computing appliance can be adjusted to account for the weather forecast.
