A method for controlling contents reproduction in a mobile terminal includes acquiring at least one of position and orientation of the mobile terminal, selecting one of a plurality of external devices based on the acquired at least one of the position and the orientation, the plurality of external devices being capable of reproducing contents at different positions, respectively, and transmitting a signal to the selected one external device for controlling the selected one external device to reproduce the contents.
