The casing comprises a signal processing circuitry configured to process a measurement signal related to pedaling. The casing further comprises a protrusion arranged to be disposed at least partially into a hole of a spindle of a pedal, wherein the protrusion provides the apparatus with a mechanic support with respect to the spindle and an electric connection between the signal processing circuitry and a measurement circuitry comprised in the spindle. Furthermore, there is provided a cycling apparatus comprising the above-mentioned apparatus.
