The display device includes a first substrate; light emitting elements provided on the first substrate and located in correspondence with pixels arrayed in a matrix; a second substrate; a light collection layer provided on the second substrate and including, on the side facing the light emitting elements, at least one convex lens in correspondence with each of the pixels; and a light-transmissive layer that is provided between the first substrate and the second substrate so as to be in contact with the lens and has a refractive index lower than that of the light collection layer.
