The display apparatus also includes a main controller configured to control operation of the display, a power supplier configured to supply power to operate the display and the main controller, a power measurer configured to measure the power supplied by the power supplier, a storage configured to store information regarding a third power range which is between a first power range that the display apparatus consumes in a sleep state and a second power range that the display apparatus consumes in a normal state, and a power controller configured to cut off the power supplied by the power supplier in response to the measured power being within the third power range.
