The configuration method includes: receiving, by a second device, an application program command word sent by a first device; parsing the application program command word, to obtain a type of a function module corresponding to the application program command word according to a preset mapping relationship; and connecting a data interface to a corresponding function module according to a parsing result; where the data interface is a data interface on the second device, and the function module is a function module in the second device. By using solutions provided by the present invention, a terminal device may automatically configure a data interface according to an application program that currently needs to be run on a computer side.
