The noise dampening device includes an inlet chamber, an outlet chamber, and an elastomeric membrane interposed between and fluidly isolating the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber. The inlet chamber is interposed between the sample inlet and the pump inlet, and the outlet chamber communicates with the pump outlet.
