The touch display device includes i light sensor modules, where i is a natural number greater than 1, for sensing a touch applied to a touch display panel, and a malfunction recovery unit for determining whether each of the i light sensor modules malfunctions and restarting at least one of the i light sensor modules when the at least one light sensor module is determined to malfunction.
