The collet comprises a sleeve (1) in which is coaxially mounted an elastic element (6) for gripping the rod-like material (4), consisting of a bushing with sections shaped as lobes (10) which are spread along the axis of the sleeve (1) at least in two rows and whose width increases from one end to the other, and a limiter (7) of the movement of the elastic element (6) along the axis (O-O) of the sleeve (1), consisting of protrusions which are provided on the internal surface of the front part of the sleeve (1), are directed towards the axis of the sleeve (1) and are located between the lobes (10).
